This would have been my second Ride to Conquer Cancer. Although the official Ride is postponed to 2021, I answered the challenge by doing a Solo Run-Ride-Run Conquer to Cancer on August 26, 2020. I've been donating to BC Cancer Foundation since 2012. In 2016 I started fund raising for BC Cancer Foundation by running races. In 2019 I switched to Ride to Conquer Cancer due to issues with my knees.
Why do I fund raise for BC Cancer Foundation? Mainly because my mom lived with cancer the last 4 years of her life (despite 3 surgeries since 2011). I fund raise for cancer research because a number of my friends / their family members have been affected by cancer. I do this because cancer is non-discriminatory. I Ride to Conquer Cancer because it is small way I can make a big difference for cancer patients and their families locally and around the world.
It’s not the sporting event I've chosen that makes a lasting impact. It’s the donation you provide to the BC Cancer Foundation through myRide. Whatever you’re able to give, THANK YOU. Every dollar you donate means a dollar more to the world leading scientists and doctors at BC Cancer who are conquering cancer.
I really believe we can conquer cancer together, and it’s through your generosity that we’ll be able to do it!
