Rod Rides for Cancer Research
UPDATE: July 26th
Here we are 30 days away from The Ride, I have finished my fondo rides for the year and just today picked up my ride package for The Ride, now it's time to prepare for the Ride To Conquer Cancer weekend with some of my fellow RidersForRyders teammates. I am so grateful for all the support I have received over the past nine months of fundraising, I honestly thought I would not be able to reach the minimum fundraising requirement and with your support I have more than doubled that amount. I am blown away by your support and generosity and sincerely THANK YOU! For anyone interested in following my progress over the next 30 days feel free to follow me on Instagram at https://www.instagram.com/the604rider or check back here for some ocassional updates.
Welcome to my Ride page!
The Ride to Conquer Cancer benefiting the BC Cancer Foundation is a transformational cycling journey, spanning over two days and 200 kilometres. In August 2018, I will be taking on the scenic Pacific Northwest in solidarity and promise to show that cancer is no match against our conviction to conquer it.
Four years ago I began road cycling and it has become my new summertime passion, in particular I really enjoy the long distance challenges of Gran Fondo events and I have taken part in a few of these. For 2018 I have decided to up my game and put my legs to good use to help raise funds for cancer research. This will be the 10th Anniversary of the BC Ride to Conquer Cancer. I wish I only had one reason to take part in The Ride but unfortunately I have too many reasons. Too many of my Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Friends and Colleagues have been affected by this horrible disease, and I will be riding for all of them. Recently I joined the Riders for Ryders Team, and I am looking forward to working with our team and their fund rasing efforts throughout the year. To hear more about Jimi Brockett's story and his reason for starting this team visit www.ridersforryders.com #33Strong If you are interested in joining our team feel free to reach out to me as we are looking for new members.
My challenge for this ride will be raising the required funds, and any contributions be it $100 or $1000 are greatly appreciated, I sincerely thank you.
Funds raised through The Ride for the BC Cancer Foundation will support cancer research, treatment, and services at the BC Cancer Agency, a leader in cancer research and treatment.
I've already got my bike, helmet and spandex, but I need your help today!
