Support My Ride to Conquer Cancer®
Why I Ride:
The Ride is close to my heart and I have been involved since the very first year but this will be my FIRST time riding. This is a BIG challenge for me. I am not a cyclist. I have not owed a bike in over 20 years. But I am riding. 200 kilometres. I am riding because too many of my friends and family have been touched by cancer or have passed away from cancer and by riding I can help change the cancer story for my friends and family and others going forward.
I am lucky, my mother is a cancer survivor. She is here and living her life to the fullest and I get to enjoy my life with her. Unfortunately, not everyone is so lucky. I lost one of the most significant women in my life to cancer, Jean Phillips. She helped raise me and taught me what it means to be both caring and strong. She taught me how to knit and how to find humour in Hee Haw.
I have lost friends and colleagues, many of them too young.
Join me in a making a difference and help change the cancer story, help support my ride by making a donation to the BC Cancer Foundation. I spent many years working for the BC Cancer Foundation and have seen first-hand the impact of donor dollars through the work of amazing researchers and oncologist at the BC Cancer Agency. They are truly changing the story, they are changing how we understand cancer, how it is treated and how it is survived. Your donation helps support the amazing work happening in BC that makes BC the province with the best cancer survival rates.
Please join me and help change the story.
Thank you for your generosity,
