Brian Szabo's R2CC Page
Thank you for visiting my Ride to Conquer Cancer page. It's one of the most important web pages you will visit today.
We all have our personal stories. I have mine. Some have worked out okay; some not so much. I have a lot of friends and colleages with personal stories as well. Here is one of them:
A little over a year ago, one of my partners and good friend at KPMG let the partner group know that his wife had just been diagnosed with breast cancer. She found it herself, by chance, had herself tested and diagnosed with a rather aggressive form. Fast forward to today, she has had a whole lot of tissue removed, been through a whole lot of chemotherapy and now radiation therapy. Oh, and by the way: she just turned 40 last year. Two teen/tween daughters. But she is doing well and has a pretty good prognosis. Five years ago, the first year I Rode (Rided?) to Conquer Cancer, that may not have been the case. Did the $10,000 I raised (and many of you contributed to) in two years make a difference? I like to think so. But I can make more of a difference.
The last time I participated in the Ride to Conquer Cancer was four years ago. In the intervening years, a number of my friends and contacts have lost loved ones. For personal reasons I took the last three years off.
But no more. I’m back. This year my goal is $7,000.
With just $25 from each of my friends and contacts I will get there. And you will all save a life.
