2017 Climbing to Conquer Cancer...
Climbing to Conquer Cancer
In 2016 our team completed the Ride to Conquer Cancer, cycling from Vancouver to Seattle and raising tens of thousands of dollars for the BC Cancer Agency. This year, in support of some close friends battling cancer, I decided to take it up a notch.
In addition to completing the 2017 Ride to Conquer Cancer, I'm aiming to climb 100,000 vertical feet cumulatively by December 31st, with a combination of bike and hike, as a small token of support for the climb that so many are doing to battle Cancer. It's mid-October and I've just crossed the 80,000-ft. marker, with just under 20,000-ft. to go in the next couple of months.
This is the final week for donations and so I'm opening a final week account with the goal to raise $2,000 by Friday. Here is a breakdown of the progress so far, this summer:
• Riding: 51,400 vertical feet climbed, over 1,230 kms
• Hiking: 32,200 vertical feet climbed, up just over 48km of mountain climbing
Thank you in advance for your support! Your contribution will support life-saving research and enhancements to care at the BC Cancer Agency, bringing hope to cancer patients in B.C. and beyond. As always, you are welcome to join me on the mountain or the road over the next couple of months!
