Let's Unite, Let's Battle Cancer Together
Support Our Journey to Conquer Cancer
Friends and Family,
We all know that special someone in our lives, who has either had cancer, is battling cancer, or has gone through similar cancer treatment for another illness. An average of $4.9 BILLION is raised yearly to fund cancer research, and this is one of my ways (and yours) of contributing to that.
What is this ride about?
The Ride to Conquer Cancer presented by Silver Wheaton benefiting BC Cancer Foundation, is a two-day cycling journey, through the beautiful Pacific region taking place in the summer. It will be a challenge in a number of ways, but with my bike, my helmet, and your generosity, a real impact will be made!
250 KM over 2 days
What are my motivations?
Many of you know of my medical past, and for those that don't, I battled severe chronic neutropenia for 13+ years; after many medical treatments, some chemo and a bone marrow transplant was what cured me. Now, I know the struggle is real, and more importantly, I know what it is like for those who have cancer or other illnesses. My motivation is to be integrated with the movement to fight cancer, so that those that I know, and those I don't, and the future of all our children, have a better chance of surviving.
I have been practicing cycling for a while now, and I have the confidence that I can do this. August will be a busy month of training, as well as fund-raising. My minumum goal is $2,800 over 28 days! The minimum amount needed to ride is $2500.
Contribute to this powerful movement with a donation. Funds raised through the _Ride to Conquer Cancer_ will support life-saving research and enhancements to care at the BC Cancer Agency, bringing hope to cancer patients in B.C. and beyond.
Thank you fam!
