Welcome to My Personal Page
This August I will be riding from Vancouver to Seattle alongside one of my best friends, Hannah, in memory of her absolutely amazing mom, Lisa Smith.
For the past few years, every summer, I have witnessed the fundraising efforts, training, and dedication of people around me working towards this ride. I have been to events held in honor of loved ones lost and in support of the ride but I had never had anyone close to me be directly affected by the disease. Last year that changed as two close friends lost their parents to this devastating illness. This year I knew I had to be a part of riding for the cure, however, I was filled with self-doubt that because I had never been a "road biker" I wouldn't stand a chance. I took a step back and thought of Hannah last year, just one month after losing her mom, completing the ride. I watched her as she crossed the finish line in Seattle, the epitome of courage and strength, and this year the only place I needed to be that weekend was on a bike beside her.
Hannah's mom, Lisa, was a truly brilliant woman, filled with incredible energy and love. Around her memory has grown an inspiring community and I couldn't be more honored to join her team, Courage for Lisa. I am incredibly thankful for anything you can give to support me reaching my goal of $2500. All donations will go directly towards supporting brain cancer research at the BC Cancer Agency.
Love and thanks,
