Support My Ride to Conquer Cancer®
Hello Everyone! You've made the first step in helping to conquer cancer! This is my first Ride to Conquer Cancer and it will be a challenge in a number of ways, but with my bike, my helmet, and your generosity, a real impact will be made. I am so excited to be on this journey!!!
This August I will be riding for two whole days (125 km each day) from Vancouver to Seattle to raise awareness and money to support the BC Cancer Foundation. All proceeds will go towards cancer research and fighting this horrible disease. Cancer touches so many of us and participating in The Ride to Conquer Cancer this year is my chance to help those most in need. The BC Cancer Foudation has helped out millions of people with various types of Cancer.
I have choosen to donate my fundraising efforts to support childhood cancers. As a long time baby lover I hope my efforts will give many children the healthy and happy start every baby deserves to have.
Like so many others cancer runs on both sides of my family. My mum, Lisa, was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma Cancer in 1998 when my sister, Indiana, and I were 3 years old and my brother, Sam, was only 2 years old. Although she was terrified she survived 8 rounds of chemo and 10 months later was pronounced cancer free. Thankfully, she has been cancer free since then and continues to get annual check ups. Early detection is so important!! As soon as my mum found the lump near her collarbone she went to the doctor, which meant she had a better chance of fighting it because she caught it early. My mum has always taught me to check myself and get checked by a healthcare professional and it's important each of you do the same!
I am so thankful that my mum is a cancer survivor and hope that with this ride and the funds that I raise I am able to help keep families together!! Please contribute to this powerful movement with a donation will be hugely appreciated. Thank you for your help in advance.
