Support My Ride to Conquer Cancer®
The Ride to Conquer Cancer presented by Silver Wheaton benefiting BC Cancer Foundation, is a two-day cycling journey, through the beautiful Pacific region taking place in the summer. It will be a challenge in a number of ways, but with my bike, my helmet, and your generosity, a real impact will be made!
Cancer has had a huge impact on our extended family and friends in recent years. Sadly, last year we lost our father, Desmond McKinley (pictured above), to a brain tumour. As children, our dad dragged us out on sometimes misguided hikes and bike rides through the hills and backroads of Ireland, but that gave us a great appreciation for the outdoors. Luckily for me I get to do this ride alongside my wife, my brother and sister and their spouses, as part of Team McKinley Momentum (our team link is at the upper right). We'll be thinking about Dad along the way, but also all our family and friends who have been affected so greatly by cancer. I haven't been much of a bike rider in the last 20 years or thereabouts, so this will be an interesting challenge to ride 250 km in two days! I look forward to it.
I really appreciate any and all donations. My goal is to raise at least $3000. Funds raised through the Ride to Conquer Cancer will support life-saving research and enhancements to care at the BC Cancer Agency, bringing hope to cancer patients in B.C. and beyond.
Thank you in advance for your help.
