Back in the saddle again!
Hello everyone! The time has come for me to get back on my bicycle and raise $2500 for cancer research in the Ride to Conquer Cancer. There are many reasons for me to ride - in rememberance of lost family members, in support of my friends and family who are survivors, and knowing that further cancer diagnoses amongst my loved ones are highly likely. The Ride has been a rewarding and meaningful experience for me in the past, as I have seen it as something small that I can do in the fight against cancer.
I have ridden three times in the past with Team UBC - even taking on the hilly challenge route three years ago. Errr... that's not going to happen this year. This year, it will be a challenge for me to do the normal two day 240 km ride. As many of you know, the last two years have been difficult ones for me. I am sad to say that I have taken very few bike rides over 2015 and 2016. But after recovering from grief and crazy allergies, I think it is time for me to get back in the saddle again - literally!
With your support and with the help of my wonderful teammates at UBC, I know that I am up for making a triumphant return to long bike rides. Please consider making a donation in support of my effort to fund cancer research that saves lives.
To everyone who has helped me fund my rides over the years, I cannot thank you enough. Team UBC has raised over $100,000 for cancer, and that's enough to make a difference.
