Support My Ride to Conquer Cancer®
Dearest Friends & Family,
Last year, I participated in the RTCC for the first time with our team, Courage for Lisa. The team, formed in honour of my mom Lisa, raised almost $70,000 which went directly towards brain cancer research at the BC Cancer Agency. It was such an amazing experience that I have decided to do it again.
In March of 2015, my mom was diagnosed with Stage 4 brain cancer. This diagnosis seemed impossible to me, as I believed my mom was invincible. Despite her fierce determination and inspiring attitude, she lost her battle to cancer in July of 2016.
My mom is a daily inspiration to me. She lived life to the fullest and never missed the chance to challenge herself, experience new things, help someone out, or give you the piece of advice you needed (even though you might not know you needed it). By participating in this ride, I hope to honour her memory and help others avoid the loss that I have because of this awful disease.
This year the RTCC is switching up its course – going from Vancouver to Hope (instead of Vancouver to Seattle). I will be riding alongside over 30 of our closest friends and family and thinking of my amazing mom the whole way. I feel lucky to be able to participate in such an amazing even and I appreciate any support.
