Support My Ride to Conquer Cancer®
As we may all know of someone who has lost their battle to cancer or continues to battle this horrible disease, please take the time to read this.
We all have been touched by these personal tragedies, myself included. Personally, I lost my Grandma 30 years ago to ovarian cancer, as well as a close cousin 5 years ago to ovarian cancer. Most recently, my childhood and best friend of over 40 years, Ella, lost her battle to the same cancer. It's been emotionally heartbreaking having to watch people I love so dearly struggle day-by-day because of cancer.
I'll be participating in a two-day major cycling event called "The Ride to Conquer Cancer" presented by Silver Wheaton benefiting BC Cancer Foundation in August 25-26, 2018.
For the first time, this event will be staying in Canada. I'll be cycling 250 km through our beautiful province's countryside to Hope, BC with my fellow Team Ohana members, as well as thousands of other riders who all share a connection with someone affected by cancer. All the proceeds will go to BC Cancer Foundation to support cancer research, treatment, and services. BC Cancer Foundation is a leading comprehensive institution devoted to cancer research and care, and the work they're doing is cutting-edge.
I've agreed to raise at least $2,500. So here's where you come in, because I need your help to do that. Could you please consider making a donation? ANY amount, whether small or large, is greatly appreciated!
Use the link at the bottom to go visit my webpage, and please take the time to support me. Please keep in mind the commitment I'm making to end this heartbreaking disease and the personal efforts I'll have to make to accomplish this.
When I say "heartbreaking," here's what I mean: An estimated 206,200 new cases of cancer and 80,800 deaths from cancer will occur (or have occurred) in Canada in 2017. Cancer is the leading cause of death in Canada and is responsible for 30% of all deaths.
That's why I'm riding. To change something BIG about cancer. I hope that you'll share this incredible adventure with me by supporting me in my fundraising efforts.
Thank you in advance for your generosity!
Sincerely and Thank you in advance for your help!
