RTCC 2017 - Doing it again!
We are all impacted by cancer – whether it be losing a family member/close friend to cancer or knowing somebody who has survived this terrible disease. And I want to make a difference.
Great things are done by a series of small things brought together. (Vincent Van Gogh)
Despite being a couch potato for 1/2 the year - thanks to football (Go Stamps!) - I take up cycling for the other 1/2 so that I can participate in The Ride to Conquer Cancer. I will ride from Vancouver to Seattle over two days in late August to raise money to benefit the BC Cancer Foundation.
Seek opportunities to show you care. The smallest gestures often make the biggest differences. (John Wooden)
And I’m asking for your help as I need to raise a minimum of $2,500 to take part in The Ride. I am part of Team Saving 2nd Base, which includes my wife Cheryl (please ask her to explain the team name), my daughter Melissa (please don't ask her to explain the team name), Melissa's boyfriend Scott Harder (don't even go there), Daryl Edwards and Jason Darby. Together we are supporting each other in our fund raising activities, training and ultimately The Ride itself. We have a great support group (known as TEAM SHEQ) that are encouraging us on this journey.
One person can make a difference, and everybody should try. (John F Kennedy)
