Support My Ride to Conquer Cancer®
Welcome to my Personal Page! The Ride to Conquer Cancer presented by Silver Wheaton benefiting BC Cancer Foundation, is a two-day, 250km cycling journey, from Vancouver to the outskirts of Seattle. It will be a challenge in a number of ways, but with my bike, my helmet, and your generosity, a real impact will be made!
I have once again joined up with riders Kevin Parks, Ryan Lermitte, Charmeine Faiola and the AMAZING support group (Jill MacLauchlan, Rod & Wendy Cameron and the delightful Mildred Parks) who make up 'Team Supernatural' to raise as much money as possible to help fight this disease. This is my second year and Team Supernatural’s 8th year participating in this incredible event and I am excited and honoured to be part of this fantastic team.
In the past few years I have had many dear friends diagnosed with Cancer. Feeling helpless, I began looking for ways to help. I have completed many triathlons and running races for my personal pleasure and I wanted to do something that meant more. After reconnecting with Kevin in 2015, I realized that this ride was my opportunity. 2016 was my inaugural year doing this ride and it was an experience beyond anything I have ever done. The spirit and enthusiasm of other riders, many of whom were cancer survivors, was truly inspirational.
As I train and prepare for the ride I continue to hold many people in my thoughts - many of whom are survivors and some who are still battling. The training I am doing is nothing compared to what each cancer patient endures in their fight to beat this disease. This year I am dedicating my ride to Lisa Durham, an incredible mother, wife and dear friend to so many who, sadly, lost her battle on January 12, 2017. You fought SO hard girl!
Please contribute to this powerful movement with a donation. Funds raised through the Ride to Conquer Cancer will support life-saving research and enhancements to care at the BC Cancer Agency, bringing hope to cancer patients in B.C. and beyond.
Your support means so much to me and I thank you.
