Marc's Ride to Conquer Cancer
Friends and Family,
This summer, the Ride to Conquer Cancer will be an extremely difficult one for me. As you're no doubt aware, we lost my mother-in-law Lois to cancer this past March. We miss her dearly, and words can't begin to adequately describe her amazing spirit, her radiant smile, and her love of friends and family.
For three years she stoically battled this cruel disease, aided tremendously in her journey by very specialized drugs and immunotherapies developed with the funds raised from events such as this ride. With your support, these specialized treatments will continue to improve and move us closer and closer to conquering cancer.
I'll once again be taking part in the two-day journey as a proud member of my brother-in-law's team, the Horny Goats. Over the past 8 years, their tireless fundraising efforts and tens of thousands of miles pedalled in support of cancer research and patient care have offered inspiration and hope to all those affected by the disease.
I've seen firsthand the pain and sadness that cancer brings, but I've also experienced the overwhelming positive energy and collective will of thousands of people working (and riding) toward a common goal - to Conquer Cancer.
I realize that we all give in so many ways, so thank you for considering supporting me in my journey. I'll be riding with a heavy heart in memory of Lois, but also with the knowledge that every mile cycled moves us closer to a cure.
