Why I Ride
My father died of liver cancer when I was 15. My cousin died of brain cancer when her children were just 6 and 7. One of my best friends died of breast cancer a year after she got married. And there are also the many other people I know, Alex, Mike, Deanne, Philip, Jeff, Deb, and Paula to name but a few, who have been through the hell of a cancer diagnosis and subsequent treatment, BUT SURVIVED.
Survived because of research, and the advancements that were made. But that research costs money.
As my 10 year old says, "Cancer is really bad, and I hope that by raising money we can find ways to cure it, once and for all."
"I don't like it!!!" says my 6 year old. If my father had been diagnosed in recent years, rather than in the late 1980's, he likely would have survived. Because research works!
Please find it in your heart to donate to my ride. I'll take anything!!!
Thanks so much,
