Support My Ride to Conquer Cancer®
I will once again be getting on my bike and joining the Ride to Conquer Cancer. This ride happens August 26/27 2017. It starts in Vancouver and ends in Seattle - a distance of over 200 kms. The purpose of this ride is to raise funds for research in the fight against cancer. I have done this ride in the past and look forward to doing it again because I love riding my bike for long distances, I care passionately about people, and I also care about the fight against cancer. This year, the ride has a more personal meaning for me. First, a former student and someone who became a friend – Kyle Marsh – passed away a month ago after a long fight against cancer. And more recently, my brother-in-law Rudy Loewen was diagnosed with cancer just a month ago, and so this year I am specifically riding for these two people. Both of their names will be on my handle bars as a constant reminder of why I’m doing this.
I am asking for your support in the fight against cancer through my bike ride. Your support in words and letters will be much appreciated. And if you wish to contribute to the Cancer Foundation, please use my home page to make a direct donation. My goal is to raise $10,000.00
Thank you for your support via this ride for anyone in your life who is facing this fight.
