Garth McFadden - Brainiacs - August 25-26, 2018 >>>>>We ride because we can, Please give because you can!<<<<<
Brainiacs #1adayto1million 2018 goals 'one a day' = 365 Brainiacs = $1,000,000 raised
In July 2012, I watched in horror as my brother-in-law Paul Bannon died from a rapidly-growing malignant brain tumour - that's Paul in the photo with the gray hoodie; I'm the guy in red smiling beside him. A man who was both my relative and my friend wasted away before my eyes and there was nothing I could do except watch. I couldn't help Paul, but I can help others ... and so can you.
That's why I've created Project 250 as part of the Brainiacs team's participation in the Ride to Conquer Cancer, a 250 kilometre 2-day bicycle ride from Vancouver to Hope on August 25-26, 2018. With this project, I intend to raise $10 per kilometre - $2,500 altogether. This will support breakthrough cancer research, exemplary teaching about the disease, and compassionate care for those suffering from it, all made possible through the BC Cancer Foundation.
The Brainiacs were founded in 2009 in BC by 4 Brain Cancer survivors. What started off as a team of 8 riders has grown to a team that has raised over 1.7 million dollars for the Ride to Conquer Cancer.
