Thank you for just even dropping in.
As you all know, I’ve been a supporter of this event for the past few years now and plan to continue to do so as long as my body is willing. And if you’ve been following me the past three years, my body has definitely been putting up a decent fight. Three years ago I was hit by a car, two years ago, everyone felt like they got hit by a car with that ridiculous storm, and last year, I rode the length of it with a busted back. This year, the plan is to actually ride it healthy. But as they say, all good plans……… But again, a fight with cancer is never in anyone’s plans now is it?
I have been fortunate in my life that I haven’t had any immediate family members have to take up that battle yet, and in my daily prayers, I am thankful to God for that. But I have seen first hand the effects of it on many dear friends, some of you, and your family members. Witnessing the courage and strength that they bring with them to fight their fight day in and day out, this is what gives me the motivation to sign up again year after year. And even more so from the ones that have lost the fight.
So again, as long as my body is capable, I will continue to do this. Like the years before, I will ride with my incredible team from the BC Cancer Agency, where all the funds I raise directly goes. “Shift Happens” has been involved with this event since the inaugural year, and I feel so fortunate to be able to ride with such an incredible group of dedicated people who actually face the enormity of this battle in the lives of their patients every single day.
So please, consider a donation to support my ride this year again. Any amount is appreciated.
Thank you again,
