Welcome to my Personal Page
Friends & Family,
Welcome to my personal page.
Unfortunately, cancer has become a universal tie. Too many of us know the pains and struggles that cancer has inflicted on our loved ones. Personally, I've had multiple family members battle multiple types of cancer. 2016 and 2017 have been particularly hard for me and my loved ones. In September, my aunt lost a courageous 3 year battle with ovarian cancer. Shortly after in November, my Grandma passed from lung and breast cancer. And shortly after that in January 2017, my family was hit with the news that my other Grandma has terminal stomach cancer. Like my loved ones, too many others have lost their courageous battles and this is why I ride. Being my third year of participating in the ride, and seeing and experiencing the many touching stories of others and their personal battles, I am even more inspired and determined to put an end to this vicious and deadly disease.
I'd like to thank you all for taking the time to come this far. Hopefully you're willing to go a little further in helping me with my fight to end cancer. If you could spare $1, or $2, or $5, or $20 or whatever you're willing to donate, I pledge that I will not stop riding until we've found a cure. My 250km ride is but a hiccup compared to the battle loved ones face with cancer. Any donation is greatly appreciated and I will keep you and all those we're riding for in my heart. Thank you for all the love and support.
Team Conquest Motto:
We ride for those who can’t,
We ride because we are able,
We ride so that one day there will be a cure
We ride so that no one will have to lose a loved one from this awful thing called cancer.
***IMPORTANT TAX ADVANTAGE AVAILABLE STARTING 2013- First Time Donors Super Credit. ***
Starting in the 2013 taxation year, the budget proposes to introduce a temporary non-refundable FDSC that will supplement the CDTC for individuals. This new credit effectively adds 25% to the rates used in the calculation of the CDTC for up to $1,000 of monetary donations. As a result, a first-time donor will be allowed a 40% federal credit for donations of $200 or less, and a 54% federal credit for the portion of donations over $200 but not exceeding $1,000.
Example 1: An eligible first-time donor claims $500 of charitable donations in 2013. All of the donations are donations of money. The first-time donor's FDSC and CDTC would be calculated as follows:
