Support My Ride to Conquer Cancer®
Welcome to my Personal Page! The Ride to Conquer Cancer benefiting BC Cancer Foundation, is a two-day cycling journey, through Canada's Pacific region taking place in the summer. It will be a challenge in a number of ways, but with my bike, my helmet, and your generosity, a real impact will be made!
I joined the Ride this year to celebrate the life of my Mom, Susanne. She fought a long, hard battle with lung cancer. She sadly lost her life December 21. 2012 just 6 months after my sister lost her battle with melanoma. My mother was my friend, mentor, and HERO. Words cannot express the hole her passing has left in my heart. I miss her dearly. I am riding in remembrance of her enduring courage and her loving, guiding spirit. I am sure I will see a butterfly this year along the ride. She loved butterflies... That will be her saying "Hello, I am with you now my "Sonny Jim" just keep pedaling." : )
I joined the ride 5 years ago to honor my sister Nola ( a.k.a. Nola Rockin' Rolla)who passed away last year 4 days before her birthday on June 12. 2012. Nola fought a long courageous battle with melanoma. Nola was the type of person who lived life to the fullest. She was a lover of the outdoors, especially the cabin at Francois Lake. When her childhood friend Karin Piche informed me that she was organizing a team for The Ride to Conquer Cancer called the "Wheelin' Warriors of the North" , I just knew I could not pass up the opportunity to honor and remember Nola in this way. The timing of the event was particularly poignant because it falls on her birthday June 16, 2013. With every push of the pedal I will be thinking of my kind, beautiful and loving sister and how lucky I am to be her brother. Rock on Nola, Rock on...Love your baby Bro- Quincy( a.k.a. your Blockhead Brother ) LOL : )
I have committed to raising a minimum of $2500. Contribute to this history-making event with a donation and help me reach my goal. Funds raised in The Ride to Conquer Cancer will support breakthrough research, exemplary teaching, and compassionate care made possible through BC Cancer Foundation, a leader in cancer research and care.
