It's a Golden Year!
Support My Ride to Conquer Cancer®
First and foremost, I want to take this opportunity to say THANK YOU to all those who supported me for my first ride in 2013, my second in 2014, my third ride in 2015! My fourth ride in 2016 was the most emotional and meaningful to me! I was extremely overwhelmed and humbled by the outpouring of love in which I received. Without your support, none of this would have been possible!
This year I continue to ride for all of those affected by this horrible disease but I most importantly, ride for my Dad, Joe! Pictured above, he was my full inspiration for my 2016 ride. The picture was taken in the early morning, where he, at the time, was recovering from major surgery to remove his stomach and tumour. It meant the world to me for him to see us off and although he couldn't be with us every step of the way as he and my mom had in past years, he was with me the whole time in Spirit and thought. He was one of my biggest supporters. He was determined to see me through the finish line this year. Unfortunately, his brave fight became too much for him and he lost his life on February 18th, 2017. He will forever be my hero, he will forever be the best example of strength and courage, he will be in my heart and he will be the Angel by my side. I am proud to call him my Dad and I am honoured to ride in his name.
This year Team CTV has the goal to hit over $1,000,000 in donations raised by our team over the 9 years being involved in the ride and I am so proud and honoured that I have been able to contribute to that amount in the past 4 years with your generosity. This is also a special year for me! Being my 5th year, I will receive and ride with a 'Golden Helmet!'
So this year I ride! This year I ride for the same cause. I ride with the same great riding partner, Antonella. I ride with a great team, Team CTV! I ride with the same heart! Just like last year, I ride with my dad and my closest friends and their families at the forefront of my thoughts. I will of course, continue to ride for those in my life who have won their personal battles with cancer and those who sadly, have lost.
My goal this year is to raise $5000! I ask you again to open your hearts and support me in the best way you can; be it donation, cheering on the streets as I ride by, meeting me at the finish line or a simple prayer. My promise to you is to train hard and to ride harder and to keep you all in my heart as I complete the ride!
