Why am I riding this year.
Support My Ride to Conquer Cancer®
This is the second consecutive year that I am doing this ride and it will be my third time riding. I decided to do this ride again at the beginning of the ride last year. The story of cancer survivors who were riding and how Cancer Research saved their lives really touched me. It made me want to raise more money so we can hear more uplifting stories of survivors.
I am riding in memory of my father, Bill Yang who passed away on April 8, 2012 of liver cancer. My father's journey started in 1993 when he was first diagnosed with liver cancer. If it was not from the support and care from the BC Cancer Foundation with the various treatments, he would not have lived this long (19 years). He was blessed to see all of his 22 grandchildren which was his greatest joy.
I'm doing this ride, along with my brother Hansel. Our ride is in memory of him and to thank the BC Cancer Foundation for the support they gave to my dad during his journey fighting this disease. We still miss him very much. The money raised from events like these made a difference in our family and many other families. We hope one day and hopefully soon, we will find a cure for cancer.
My goal is to raise $5,000 and with your support, I will be able to reach this goal.
Contribute to this powerful movement with a donation. Funds raised through the Ride to Conquer Cancer will support life-saving research and enhancements to care at the BC Cancer Agency, bringing hope to cancer patients in B.C. and beyond.
Thank you in advance for your support.
