Welcome to my Personal Page

This is ride number 6 for me. It gets more important every year. We keep making progress but we also keep losing loved ones, so we can't stop trying!
Why do I ride?
In the pre-dawn light of July 31, 2006, I had the incredible privilege to hold my mom's hand in our family home as she lost the battle with cancer. I said at the service to celebrate her life that it was the most beautiful gift she could have given me. To be able to comfort her as she had so often comforted me. She had fought breast cancer twice and lost to a type of lung cancer.
On August 19, 2010, I had the honour of holding my dad's hand as he passed away. He had fought prostate, kidney and colon-rectal tumors. He got an infection during surgery for the kidney tumor in 2009. He never regained his strength and died of heart failure. Technically cancer didn't get him, but it didn't help.
Daphne and Ron Grisdale were amazing people who didn't deserve to die so young. I am riding for them and all the others I know and love who have fought the fight and lost. And I am riding for the ones I know and love who are fighting today.
Thank you for considering a donation to help the fight against cancer.
