Support My Ride to Conquer Cancer®
Thanks for visiting my page. As many of you may know I am a two-time breast cancer survivor and my Mom Trish died of metastic breast cancer 4.5 years ago. Last year I supported a small team from Nanaimo in The Ride to Conquer Cancer and was inspired by the story of a woman with metatastic breast cancer who was alive 3 years later due to a program funded by the ride. Having recently lost a friend to metastatic breast cancer and know others living with it it means a lot to me that funds raised could potentially help these women and possibly even me. So I know these funds matter and they do make a difference!
I am not a big bike rider and the thought of riding 250 km (155 miles for my American friends) over two days is no small feat. However our friend Nick Rutledge (that is who Scott rode for) who at 14 had just spent a year in horrific treatments that no child should ever have to endure inspired me to take the leap of faith that I could do this. He can't ride with me this year because he is too young but he will be with me on every pedal stoke. I will ride for the innocence of children who deserve to live a life unmarred by fear and for the empowerment of all the women I know who have experienced the fear and challenges of living with breast cancer.
I ride so we can eradicate the fear that comes with having had cancer and for a future filled with possibilities.
Thank you for your loving support in my journey.
