Amber Kingsnorth - This One's for Dad
This year I'm riding for my Dad.
In 2013 we did this ride together (my third, his first) and there's no denying that he was hooked! He has been a dedicated rider ever since and the ride has continued to be a big family event for us. Last year was my Dad's last time at the finish line after his battle with Cancer. He crossed the line in a wheelchair surrounded by his team mates, family and friends, to the sound of a roaring crowd. He passed away two days later.
This year would mark his golden-helmet-worthy fifth ride and I'm proud to say that I'll be wearing his helmet this year. I'm riding with friends and family in his memory and in his spirit. Let's give cancer a good ass-kicking for my Dad and for everyone we know and love!
Your support means the world to me and all those in this battle.
The Ride to Conquer Cancer is a two-day cycling journey, through the beautiful Pacific region benefiting BC Cancer Foundation. It will be a challenge in a number of ways, but with my bike, my helmet, and your generosity, a real impact will be made!
