Come along for the Ride!
Welcome to my 2017 Ride to Conquer Cancer personal page
As some of you know, this will be my 8th Ride to Conquer Cancer. We've done a lot of good over the past 7 - with the support of family and friends we have now raised over $40k for the BC Cancer Foundation. However, we're not done yet because we still keep losing people - most recently Frank Renou, who I had the privilege of working with for 25 years and Darlyne Dyxon, who's memorial I attended February 4th - World Cancer Awareness Day.
Frank lived for 9 years with pancreatic cancer and benefitted from the treatments developed as a result of fundraising done by events like the Ride to Conquer Cancer.
I'm also riding in memory of my Dad and my Aunt Kathleen, who would have been with us longer, if they'd had benefit of today's treatments. I'm riding in memory of too many others who are no longer here because we need more research. I'm riding for those I know who thankfully are survivors because of the treatments they've been able to have as a result of research. I'm riding for those currently in treatment and I'm riding for my children and now my grandson in hope they will never experience cancer.
I hope that you'll come along for the ride and I thank you in advance for your support.
