Two years ago I lost my father to cancer
Thanks for taking the time to read this
In May of 2016 my father was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer, glioblastoma. Over the next three months, we had 100 last suppers with him, 100 sunsets we enjoyed together, and a million smiles, kisses and hugs. When he passed, we grieved and today we still miss him. But an 87 year old man who is given a long and painless chance to say goodbye is sad but not tragic. On his birthday I will be riding not for him, but in his honor, to celebrate his life and to help those less fortunate than us. Those who have this cruel disease when they are young or their children are young.
The Ride to Conquer Cancer benefiting Princess Margaret Cancer Centre is a transformational cycling journey, spanning over two days and 200 kilometres. In June 2018, I'll be taking on Ontario’s majestic countryside in solidarity and promise to show that cancer is no match against our conviction to conquer it.
Funds raised through The Ride directly benefit Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, one of the top 5 cancer research centres in the world, and will move us closer to our vision of conquering cancer in our lifetime. Your donation will help to make a life-changing impact for cancer patients right here in Toronto.
I’m riding to help raise funds to support researchers in finding new treatments. I’m riding to help raise funds to care for patients and families. I’m riding to help raise funds to teach the next generation of researchers and professionals the skills to fight Cancer.
I’m ready to do the riding, but to guarantee my Ride success, I need your help today!
