Welcome to My Personal Page
Welcome to my Ride page!
Last year was my first Ride to Conquer Cancer, and while nervous about cycling over 200 Kms in 2 days from Exhibition Place in Toronto to Niagara Falls, I knew I had to do it. I did it for my wife Kristi, who lost her battle to breast cancer in 2012 and for my daughter Tylar, who lost her mother at 4 years of age. I rode for my parents, who both fought and beat cancer and for the countless others who have and will be forced to fight this unrelenting disease.
I have watched and lived through the effects cancer has. It comes into people's lives and turns their world upside down. The effects of the disease are traumatizing, leaving families feeling powerless and helpless. This ride however is empowering. It allows those suffering and their families to know that they are not alone in their battle. The Ride inspires hope. Knowing that last year more than 5,000 riders raised a record 20.5 million dollars, that went directly towards cancer research at Princess Margaret Hospital is encouraging.
This year I will be riding with my partner Kelly and the amazing Paramedics for a Cure team. Kelly and I will be riding for our children Tylar and Clayton, as an example (we hope) to show them that by working together as a team we all can help find a cure for cancer, in this lifetime.
The Ride is difficult and rigorous, but fighting cancer is much harder. So, in June 2018, I will be taking on Ontario's majestic countryside in solidarity and promise to show that cancer is no match against our conviction to conquer it.
To be able to enter The Ride, each participant must raise a minimum of $2500.
This is where I need your help. You can click on the link attached to donate, or go to http://ride.conquercancer.ca/toronto/ for ride details. As well you can visit the Paramedics For A Cure team page at https://www.paramedicsforacure.com/.
I thank everyone who has supported me in the past and to those that wish to donate now to help us all find a cure.
