John Derochie: Although John has not personally had anyone in his life suffer from cancer; he fully supports finding a cure in his lifetime. He would like to help others and their families who have been through this tough battle. John is dedicated and is working out at the gym every day to train for this journey. He is changing his lifestyle by eating better and staying active. He feels this journey is a great team building activity and wasn't going to miss out!
Steve Keating: Steve did the ride last year as an individual rider. He was excited when his co-workers decided to put this team together. He said last year was by far one of the best experiences of his life. He is riding to help with the fight to end cancer. He wants to inspire other people to join the fight and ride as well. He is currently training at the gym and riding the bike 30km, 4 times a week!
Peter Millesse: Peter feels that cancer is an insidious affliction. He’s lost too many friends, colleagues, relatives including his father. He wants it to stop. Peter is riding to help make a meaningful contribution towards the elimination of cancer in our lifetime. He is remaining as active as possible, including an increasing regimen of excer-cyling and will bike ride when the weather allows.
Rosalind Sellar: Rosalind is excited to be riding with such a dynamic group of colleagues and friends to help conquer this disease one pedal at a time. Rosalind is avid rider for the "Ride For Heart". She is so excited for this ride and knows this experience will be EPIC. Rosalind has seen first hand both the successes and devastation this disease can cause. She is looking forward to riding with her team and more importantly this adventure. Cancer has NO boundaries but together we can beat it. Rosalind is a survivor.
Emily McVety: Emily is riding for her mother, her grandmother who lost her battle in 2002 and recently, a close friend and someone dear to her heart who taught her to enjoy every moment and never take life for granted. She is excited to ride as a team!!
Tony DiViesti: Tony has been interested in this ride which will allow him to help raise funds for a very important cause while doing something he enjoys. He lost his father from lung cancer in 2009 and is riding in his honour. For Tony, this ride is about participating in a community event while helping to raise funds to put an end to the suffering that cancer causes. Tony is currently playing squash and hockey and will start exercising on his new exercise bike! Once the weather gets better he will start cycling outdoors!
Laura Fisher-Mills: Coming Soon
We’re here because we know that cancer is too big a disease to ignore. It affects everyone, maybe you, me, our parents, kids, siblings or friends. Sadly, maybe all of the above. But by riding in this event we are doing something about it. We’re rolling closer and closer to the end of cancer. It’s an awesome triumph in a physical sense and emotionally as well.
We would appreciate anything you can donate. Every little bit counts and will help us reach our end goal!! We are hoping to easily bypass that goal with your help.
Stay tuned!! We are hosting an event in the upcoming weeks we know you would love to support!!
Thank you in advance for your support. We look forward to meeting you, seeing you again or meeting you at the finish line!!! This means a great deal to us and your support means so much.
