One Extraordinary Joe
In 2006, shortly after completing a round of intensive cancer treatment, Joe Finley competed in his first sprint triathlon. For most peaople, crossing the finish line would have signalled the end of the journey, but for Joe it marked the beginning.
The following year, Joe's Team was born. Athletes and supporter came out in drove to fundraise and participate in the Joe's Team Triathlon and the Ride to Conquer Cancer. In 10 years, Joe's Team has raised more than $12 million for cancer research, established the Joe Finley Centre for Head and Neck Cancer Research; grew the Centre's research team from four to 82 staff; and touched countless lives.
After Joe's passing in 2010 his wife, Cara, continued to lead Joe's Team and carry on her husband's mission. The 10th and final Joe's Team Triathlon was held last summer, but we carry on in Joe's name as part of the Ride to Conquer Cancer.
Please donate to us or join us in riding in honour of Joe. Thank you in advance for your support.
