Support My Ride to Conquer Cancer
I was not blessed with the opportunity to know my grandfather on my mother's side for more than the first few years of my life. While I don't remember much of him, I have continuously been informed by family members about his love for music, especially the piano. Apparently the house was always filled by the pleasant tones of my grandfather's playing. Having been a composer and member of a band for several years, it would seem that that I inherited the same passion for music. Several of my relatives on that side of the family are also musically gifted. Despite the fact that my grandfather only got to meet a few of his now 20+ grandchildren, I am confident that he is looking down at all of us proudly. He lost his battle to lung cancer in 1995.
I had previously contemplated doing something that makes an impact on the lives of others, while challenging myself to push the boundaries of my comfort zone. When I first read the message circulating at my firm regarding The Enbridge Ride to Conquer Cancer, I knew I had found an opportunity. Plus, my father is an avid cyclist (and previous participant himself) - he'd be thrilled that I decided to ride, right? The ride benefits the Segal Cancer Centre at the Jewish General Hospital and is a cycling journey through Quebec’s countryside that I’m embarking on to fight cancer. Please help me and the cause by contributing to this history-making event with a donation – any and all amounts are greatly appreciated. Funds raised will support breakthrough research, exemplary teaching and compassionate care at the Jewish General Hospital.
Let’s fight for a world where we do not have to endure the pain and suffering of losing loved ones to cancer. Help me contribute to a cause that will allow us to, one day, grow up with loved ones whom we would not have known otherwise.
Thank you in advance for your help!
