Support My Ride to Conquer Cancer
Welcome to my Personal Page! The Enbridge Ride to Conquer Cancer benefiting the Segal Cancer Centre at the Jewish General Hospital is a cycling journey through Quebec’s countryside that I’m embarking on to fight cancer. It will be a challenge in a number of ways, but with my bike, my helmet, and your generosity, a real impact will be made!
There are more and more people living longer with cancer than ever before. Even though a cure has yet to be found the advances made in modern medicine have helped a great many people. My mom passed away in 2004 and a few years later I did my first ride in her memory. At that time my oldest childhood friend was diagnosed with brain cancer. So I did the ride for both of them. I am happy to say that, although not cancer free, my friend is still with us today.
We really don't know what curve balls life is going to throw at us. At four years old we became friends with a popcicle. I split it and gave him half and that was the begining of a life time friendship.
You wake up one day with a headache and it unexpectedly changes your life. I would like to help those less fortunate and one of the ways for me to do that is to raise funds to help in the fight against cancer. You can help me help others with your generous contributions. Large or small they will be greatly appreciated.
I recently recieved bad news that a very good friend and mentor of mine of over thirty years is in a critical state due to cancer. If you want to see a short glimps of what he meant to me you can go to my web site at www.simaphoto.ca go to the blog section and find a post called "full circle" I pray he doesn't suffer.
Another good highschool friend of mine has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. The only way I can help is by beeing there for them and by helping in the raising of funds so that research and technology can advance to the point that we end up beating this thing.
Thank you in advance for your help.
