Cycling to Make a Difference
This is my 6th year participating in this cause that touches everyone.
My personal interest stems from the fact that my father fought and beat prostrate cancer a number of years ago. It became even more personal on Christmas Eve 2014 when my father-in-law was taken by cancer - no family history, no warnings until a few months before and by then it was too late. He was an avid scuba diver and aviation enthusiast - it was a thrill to bring him to a CAE open house a few years ago and have an opportunity to fly one of our simulators (he was like a kid in a candy shop).
As with all other participants, I need to raise at least $2,500 to be able to participate in the ride itself.
I hope that YOU dear friends and family can take a few minutes of your time and help support me in my efforts on this journey, and most importantly, to help raise awareness and funds for cancer research. Every donation makes a difference ... large or small. I thank you in advance for your generousity.
I have ear-marked the funds that I am raising to go to research for a cure, and like cancer itself, research knows no borders.
If you would like any information on the event itself, please don't hesitate to contact me - even people from the Ottawa region can easily participate (either as a rider or as one of the over 350 volunteers). Our team, Team CAE, offers a wide variety of support to help people train for the event and fundraise and we have a lot of fun in the process - it is no wonder that we are the largest team in the event. In our first five years as a team, we raised over $1.5M for the hospital! Join the swell of CAE blue and help make a world of difference.
Warm Regards, Glenn
