SUPPORT MY RIDE TO CONQUER CANCER
Welcome to my Personal Page! The Enbridge Ride to Conquer Cancer benefiting the Segal Cancer Centre at the Jewish General Hospital is a cycling journey through Quebec's countryside that I'm embarking on to fight cancer. It will be a challenge in a number of ways, but I believe that working together, anything is possible.
Why I am raising money for cancer research and participating in the Enbridge Ride to Conquer Cancer:
Without even thinking about it, I'm sure we can all name at least 3 people in our respective lives who have either been a cancer patient, either surviving their encounter with the disease or sadly, losing the fight. I myself can think of 9 people, 5 of whom are survivors.
This year I am putting my fundraising dollars towards Breast Cancer. Breast cancer is the 2nd leading cause of death from cancer for Canadian women. When talking averages, 68 women are disagnosed every day; 14 women die every day. Having said that I am dedicating my Ride this year to two people: Margaret Nugent, my neighbor and very good friend (I call her my adopted grandmother) as well as Nanette Siegner who I got to know during my time at John Abbott. Both of these women are some of the strongest people I know.
If you want to help the world get rid of Cancer, even in just a small way, and feel the need to do your part, I ask that you donate to my cause; The Enbridge Ride to Conquer Cancer.
Together we CAN and WILL get rid of this Evil. We will make it so that one day the world might be considered cancer-free.
