In memory of loved ones
This year marks the 9th annual Ride To Conquer Cancer, nine years that I've been participating.
Eight years since cancer took the life of my older, and smarter and prettier, sister Kathy.
Her passing, and that of my mom over 30 years ago, was my motivation to act, to do something about this disease.
Over the years, I've witnessed this disease take the lives of family, friends and those close to them.
At the same time however, I've witnessed victories in these battles against cancer.
These victories give me hope, and motivate me to continue my participation in the Ride to Conquer Cancer.
Our efforts are making a difference; to more accurately identify cancers, and create individualized treatment plans. As the treatment for one patient may not work for another patient, even having the same form of cancer.
We each have our personal reasons and motivation to ride, but we share a common goal, to Conquer Cancer.
Over the years, I personally have raised over $40,000 thanks to all those who support me.
And over these years, I've encouraged friends to join and participate in the Ride to Conquer Cancer, and we've formed a team, Intense Defense 300, inspired by the fighting spirit of Spartan warriors. Collectively we've raised over $200,000.
Please encourage my efforts with a donation, no amount is too small.
While you're at it, have a look at our Intense Defense 300 team web site, www.IntenseDefense300.com see what we're about. No one says you can't have fun doing a serious thing :-)
