Support my Ride for the Cure
Thank you for visiting my personal page!
In 2014, I had an incredible experience participating in the Enbridge Ride to conquer Cancer - a 220km journey from the heart of Toronto to the majestic Niagara Falls. It took a serious commitment to fundraise and train for the demanding 2-day event, one that couldn’t be accomplished without your support – thank you. This year, I’m participating once again in the R2CC, cycling along the Canadian Rockies to support the Alberta Cancer Foundation.
My motivation to participate in the event stems from being personally affected by cancer. It’s created tremendous frustration for my family, but for me, its created a curiosity in the disease and its fueled my passion to conquer it. I’m here because cancer is too big a disease to ignore. In Canada, 2 in 5 people will be diagnosed with cancer… and 25% of those will die from it. But by riding in this event and through support for the cause, we are doing something about it. We’re rolling closer and closer to the end of cancer.
This ride is first and foremost for my dad who lost his battle to cancer when I was 4 years old. This ride is secondly for Tania's mom and my grandpa who battled it within the last year. Thirdly, this ride is for all our family members and friends who have been affected by cancer. Some have won the battle and some have lost.
There will be a R2CC jersey hung by my desk. I encourage you to drop by and write a name on the jersey to support an individual in your life who is fighting, or previously fought cancer. For those who aren’t in IBM Calgary, please send an email to email@example.com and I can add the name to the jersey.
Thank you for your support!
