Support My 2017 Ride to help Conquer Cancer
If you know me at all you are gotta know of my love of recreational cycling and my past participation in this event. You probably know that I cycle all year around including commuting to work in -25C throughout winter, and most importantly, the eight previous times I have supported the Ride to Conquer Cancer (ok, I admit last year I only did one day because I was sick but I did do the 200km the previous weekend). So you will understand my returning commitment to the 2017 Ride to Conquer Cancer. Yes, this is ride number nine - I have not missed particpating in this event!
This Ride to Conquer Cancer is my chance to challenge myself and be someone who makes an impact. Someone who leaves the world a better place. Someone who acts for others. That's me and my fellow riders. And this is your chance to be a part of it too. Who has not been somehow touched by cancer? This year I will be riding on behalf of my own mother and her passing!
I signed on again to cycle over 200 km, along the foothills of the majestic Canadian Rockies, and raise my minimum goal of $2500. All donations go directly to the Alberta Cancer Foundation, who uses the money for world-class research, as well as cancer treatment and education. And they use it as soon as they receive it, not when the bike ride happens in August.
So, yes, this is my personal request for your financial support. Fifty cents, or better yet a dollar (or even more!), for every kilometer of the 200 km trip would be absolutely awesome! I will gladly accept any donation you are comfortable making. You can donate over a period of time too, if you aren't able to give all at one time. I sincerely thank you in advance for whatever donation you can make.
Thanks in advance for your continued support!
